Walking down the skincare aisle at any local drugstore can confuse many individuals. What products work best? What products are appropriate for my skin’s unique needs? Why should I spend more on a product that is dermatologist-tested and approved? At the Rendon Center Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine of Boca Raton, FL, we speak with patients every day who are interested in improving the texture, tone, and health of their skin. Along with a custom-tailored skincare routine, our doctors can also recommend certain treatments for skin enhancement, such as microneedling.

What is microneedling?

Microneedling is a specialized treatment that is performed at Rendon Center Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine. It is a nonsurgical approach to improving the skin with as little downtime as possible. It can be used to effectively address:

  •         Pigmentation problems
  •         Stretchmarks
  •         Acne and acne scarring
  •         Fine lines and wrinkles
  •         Noticeable scars on the skin
  •         Poor skin texture and tone

The procedure uses a specialized pen-like device that is rolled across the skin to create microchannel punctures. This stimulates the skin’s natural healing response, which includes the production of collagen and elastin that can tighten and tone the skin.

What is the process and recovery of microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is done right in the dermatologist’s office with the skin and expertise of our professionals. Patients relax in the treatment chair as we administer the microneedling device across the skin. Patients will find that noticeable results are achieved after one treatment, but many patients will benefit from a series of five to six treatments spaced weeks apart to get the most dramatic improvements.
